Hong Kong ranks first in the Net Index study by Ookla with an average internet speed of 47.52 Mbps. Among 184 countries and territories analysed, Lithuania was second with 38.85 Mbps, followed by Taiwan (36.66 Mbps), The Netherlands (34.53 Mbps) and Luxembourg (34.06 Mbps). The world average is 13.82 Mbps, the EU average is 18.62 Mbps, the G8 average is 17.72 Mbps, and the OECD average is 17.18 Mbps. The data is based on user tests over the Speedtest.net website since December 2010.
